Sean Murray brings over 30 years of international retail experience across start-ups, scale-ups, and PLCs, with deep sector expertise in fashion, home, and lifestyle. A trusted advisor to founders, boards, and investors, he is known for delivering brand clarity, commercial results, and transformative growth in complex, competitive markets.

A digital native and continual innovator, Sean works where brand strategy, customer experience, and commercial performance converge — combining sharp insight with hands-on execution to drive meaningful change. He has a proven track record in launching disruptive concepts, leading high-stakes turnarounds, and repositioning businesses for relevance and growth.

Sean pioneered digital commerce at The Arcadia Group — including the global rollout of TOPSHOP — and led marketing and growth for clothing and non-food at Tesco PLC, helping shape one of the UK’s most influential omnichannel propositions. He’s delivered rebrands for Moss Bros and Hunkemöller, a carve-out strategy for Dorina Lingerie, and a full repositioning of Prénatal, the Dutch market leader in parent and child retail.

The Retail Practice was born from Sean’s founding vision: to create a boutique agency that is relentlessly customer-focused — fusing the power of brand with the creative and commercial potential of digital. Built for brands that want to stay bold, relevant, and ready for growth, the agency combines big-brand thinking with real-world pragmatism.
